Story
For those of you who never met him he was fighter & if you did meet him he no doubt would have mentioned 'When i was on the Atlantic' or 'The Capsize Moment'. This relates to when him and 5 friends tried to break the World Record for rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately they didn't quite make it & got recused by a tanker from their emergency raft. In the years following this Ian made a name for him self re-telling this inspiring story to many organizations, professionals, students at schools/colleges and his friends.
Ian unfortunately lost his battle, with blood cancer in early 2019. He spent his last weeks at St Johns Hospice in Moggerhanger, where they cared for him in every aspect providing the excellent love and attention that they unfortunately do for many.
My aim is to take part in 20 events in 2020; these will include running some large events such as Brighton Marathon, my first ever sprint triathlon in the Lake District and the Tour of Cambridge 100mile Bike Ride. The other events will be smaller running events such as 10km & half marathons.
I wish to raise as much as possible to help continue the great work they continue to do.
