Kent Union's sports clubs and societies are the greatest source for students to gain vital career and life skills, maintain and improve their physical and mental health and improve their chances of employment. The Access to Activities Fund provides support to students who wish to participate in our clubs and societies but can't due to cost barriers. In 2016/17 £6,540 has already been made available available, allowing our students to purchase memberships, essential playing equipment and contributions toward competitions, for example. The demand on this fund is higher than we can offer at the moment. Therefore, we have set ourselves the ambitious target to double the funding available to students for 2017/18.
The Campus to Campus Challenge will see participants cycle from Medway to Canterbury, to Brussels, to Paris in 4 days, covering nearly 100 miles per day, cycling 380 miles in total! In each of these cities the University of Kent has a campus, and we are proud to use this campaign to also highlight our European connections as a university and as Students’ Unions. This will be a fantastic adventure, physical challenge, and a great opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause. So please support our challenge!
