Story
In November 2016 my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
In February 2017 her condition deteriorated and she was admitted to LOROS for six weeks of treatment. I believe it was the unbelievable care LOROS provided, that enabled her to have another six months of good quality life.
Sadly, Mum passed away in September 2017. I feel indebted to LOROS for the extra time my family and I had with her. This, alongside my ambition to run a marathon and fund raise at the same time, gave me the push to apply for a place to run for #teamLOROS in the 2019 London Marathon!
Cancer affects so many people and my hope is that any funding I can raise, will help LOROS to continue with the fantastic work they do for patients, their families, friends and loved ones!
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
