Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A couple of years ago some friends and I walked from Upminster to Canterbury to raise money for a friend’s daughter who needed potentially life-saving treatment in America.  Through your generosity (and others like you) we raised upwards of £28,000.  My friends daughter received the treatment that she needed and continues to do well to date.  The success of that fundraising event has prompted us to repeat the fundraising event and walk the 50 miles to Canterbury again this year.

We are raising money for charities that have helped out our friend's children this year.  Emilia was born last year with Down’s syndrome and required life saving Cardiac surgery at the age of only 4 months.  This extremely stressful time was made easier by the excellent care that Emilia received from Great Ormond Street Hospital and from the support she and her family received from the Sick Children’s Trust.

Anjali was born prematurely last year.  Anjali spent 3 months on SCBU at St. Mary’s Hospital where she received excellent life saving care.  The Winnicott Foundation raises funds to improve care for premature and sick babies through supporting the neonatal units at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, Hammersmith.  They help to save the lives of premature and sick newborn babies, help families to be with their babies and help to give premature and sick babies a better long-term future.

This year therefore we are raising money for these three charities – The Winnicott foundation, The Sick Children’s Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital.  Please give generously, these two beautiful children would not be here today without the work of these charities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.  All donations are really gratefully received.
