Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am participating in Vélo Birmingham & Midlands 2019, a 100 mile closed roads bicycle sportive, to raise funds in support of the QEHB Charity. I am doing so in memory of my partner's mom, Joan Carroll, cared for brilliantly by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
I undertook the event in its inaugural year, 2017, riding a Brompton folding commuter bike, just one of two small-wheeled bikes out of 15,000 entries. I shall again be making life difficult for myself by cycling a small-wheeled bicycle, a Moulton.
The ambition is to beat my 2017 completion time and to raise £1,000.
Last time I was in the saddle for 9 hours, 24 minutes, and 48 seconds. I'm making no promises about completion time, but under 9 hours would be satisfying.
Last time we raised £1,632.24. So it should be possible to raise a further £1,000 this time.
If 40 people donated £25 each, or 20 people £50, we'll get there. I'm pretty sure that there must be at least 40 people who would pay £25 to see me suffer. Just think of me cycling 100 miles on small wheels, and please donate what you can to guarantee the suffering.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Very many thanks.
Regards,
Richard
