Story
I'm not sure what most people do a month before they collect their bus pass but on Sunday 28 May I'll be riding 100 miles, on my bike, in one go!!!
Whilst it's a jolly long way, and doubt my padded shorts will still feel padded toward the end, I'll be riding with a real purpose and no doubt a tear in my eye.
The main picture on the page is me with a dear friend Judy D'Cruz, who In January of this year lost her life after a 10 year battle with a Brain Tumour.
Whilst living with the condition The Judy D’cruz Fund was established to help raise funds to find a cure for this disease which is the number 1 cancer killer of children and young adults under the age of 40.
For much of the last 10 years Judy had lived a very active life and very much enjoyed her lifestyle and raising money to find a cure for this disease.
When Judys tumour started to regrow in May 2022 it was a Glioblastoma grade 4 which basically has no cure. Judy was raising money right up until the Christmas before she died so that in future years when people were given her diagnosis it would be “treatable” as opposed to “terminal”. Judy was a remarkable woman.
I know that things are tough out there but please be as generous as you can in helping us raise money for this cause that is very close to our hearts.
Many thanks for taking time to read my story.
