Story
My friend Jo White (pictured centre) has battled cancer since 2014. He underwent the Whipple's Procedure having several body parts removed as they found a GIST (type of tumour).
Having had part of his liver, small intestine and Pancreas removed the cancer has remained in his liver for over 6 years. Last year he had SABR Radiotherapy on his Aorta (new tumour) and has now been told he has 3 new sites in his liver. He is on a new drug which has some nasty side effects and has been told this is the last line of defence before taking a medical trial. The drug is called Regorafenib and more info can be found here:

Jo is the fittest and most determined person I have ever met and he has defied this horrible disease for a long time now. He is also 56 years old.
So I am running this long race to raise money to help keep him alive.
Sarcoma UK is a small and relatively unknown cancer charity who do great work not just in research but in the support of sarcoma cancer patients in the UK. Sarcoma is a rare cancer that affects 15 people a day in the UK or 5300 people a year.
Sarcoma UK do great work into the research of this type of cancer and provide support for Sarcoma patients from diagnosis and through treatment.
I like to think of myself as physically fit. You have to be if you hang around with Jo. Over the last few years I have done lots of mountains with him but like him I have the attention of a goldfish so to run for more than 4 hours on tarmac is going to test me!
Thanks for your support!
