Story
Thank you so much for stopping by to look at my page.
There is one reason, and one reason only, that I am running (in the loosest sense of the word) the Great Birmingham Run this year. My very best friend in the world, Kev, ran the race last year. He trained hard and completed the 13.1 miles in a fabulous time. He then collapsed and, in spite of receiving immediate and excellent medical attention, sadly didn't make it. We lost someone so dear to us all, and never found out why.
I, like many of the group who will run this year in his memory, am no athlete. The physical challenge will be huge. The mental challenge greater still. But we will somehow pull together to get around the course as both a fitting tribute and a way of having something positive to take from this by raising money for CRY.
So any small amount that you can spare will be gratefully received and will give us all the motivation we need to drag ourselves around Birmingham for as many hours as it takes us.
Thanks again for your support - it really does mean a lot.
Rich.
