I’ve been to visit Somaliland with the ISRA delegation and it was an absolute eye opener.

One of the ladies who received a donation of sheep told us that after lambing there was enough milk for two families and the lamb was to go to another family to help them. So three families have received sustainable benefit from one donation. What a result!

After two days of travelling off road by car,  into the Mad Max landscape of The Interior of Somaliland we ended up in an interesting place with a beautiful view of the stars from the bathroom. The other guests included truck sized cockroaches and man eating mosquitoes. 

The next day we met some of the recipients of the project. People living in tents with simple mats for furniture and a view of the landscape and sky from their bathrooms. (If you’re not getting the picture I’ll send you some). Even though they have lost their livelihood and are living in tough conditions these people have not lost their dignity.

That’s where we met the lady who told us her story. So what I’d like to do is raise enough to pay for 1000 animals and get them distributed to families.

The project 

• We provide a family with 5 sheep 1 male and 4 females 
• The family donates forward one animal after a year providing the stock has multiplied.

Raise enough money to pay for 1000 animals 200 families will benefit 

40 more families will benefit
