Karen Appleton
In the summer of 2021 my Mum, Karen Appleton, was diagnosed with a rare Appendix cancer - Pseudomyxoma Peritonei - that would change her life forever.
Over the next 2 years she went through a chapter filled with both courage and heartache. Ever the fighter, she received major debulking surgery and chemo as she battled against the relentless grip of cancer,
Unfortunately, a few month's ago Mum became very unwell and made the decision to go to St Peters Hospice to receive symptom control care. Throughout the next 10 days, St. Peter's Hospice emerged as a beacon of compassion, providing not only medical care but also a haven of warmth and solace. The dedicated staff became an extended family, easing the burden with empathy, support, and a genuine understanding of the emotional toll that accompanies such a journey.
