Story
At the end of September I will be running 10k for refugee action (in the past 10k would not be much of challenge but as i havent been running alot in recent times, i think 10k will be a decent challenge-and hopefully i will exceed 10k-fingers crossed).
I am doing this run for two reasons; first, to show solidarity with refugees and asylum seekers- who in recent times have experienced an increasingly harsh and oppressive environment in the uk- and as citizens of the united kingdom and of the world we I feel like need to show everyone that they have value and should be treated with dignity and repect. And secondly, as I want to kick start my own fitness and feel like this is a good wqy of doing it, while supporting a worthy cause.
Any support however small will be greatly appreciated. I know times are hard for everyone, but Refugee Action is supporting those who are so often forgotten and pushed to the bottom of the pile in society.
Lets show refugees and asylum seekers that we, the people of the uk, are a welcoming and respectful people..
I believe that refugees deserve better, and so I'm fundraising for Refugee Action. They've been standing up for refugees since 1981, and their vision is that refugees and people seeking asylum will be welcome in the UK. They deliver frontline services for refugees, and campaign for their rights. Please donate if you can, and help fight for a fairer future for refugees and people seeking safety.
