I am fundraising for Make It Count 2021. Im a 13 year old boy with Quadreplegic Cerebral Palsy & Epilepsy. I face many daily challenges but i love sport and its a big part of my life. I play in goal for my local disability football team and its my dream to be able to play for my country in the disability league. Quite recently i posted a video on social media of one of my goal saves at a local tornament, i was really proud. The next day i was subjected to thousands of hatefull online comments discriminating against my disability. Some people even telling me if i cant walk i shouldnt play sport. This really upset me at the time. However with the backing of my family, friends & some amazing supporters i have met online im ready to stand up to these people and show them how despite my disability i can rise above the negativity and raise awareness for disabled children like me who just want to be included. At the same time we can all proove that Hate will never win. I have challenged my whole family from my Nan right down to my baby cousins to join me in clocking up 20 minutes each day partaking in various physical activities, biking, running, walking, press ups, situps and i myself am going to make 20 saves in goal each day! The challenge will start on the 24th Aug to the 5th Sep in line with the Paralympic Games. I will post updates and videos of how we all get on. Lets hope my family can keep up with the pace of #Rhysfamilychallenge 🙂
