In June 2021, teams from Loughborough University will take a £500 car of their choice on an epic 2000-mile journey across 12 countries. Since Alzheimer's disease was first diagnosed in 1901, Loughborough University was established, astronauts have travelled to the moon, research has helped double cancer survival rates, and a diagnosis of HIV is no longer a death sentence. Yet, we still don't have any treatments to slow or stop the diseases that cause dementia.
