Story

Kim & Carolyn came up with the idea to give something back as it’s coming up to the 1 year anniversary that we lost our Dear Friend Karen Roper to Cancer.

I wanted to share some things about our Dear Friend:
The kind one who was incredible, inspiring, The one who made you feel better about everything in life. The one who found joy in everyday!
The one who put your life in order.

Karen our special friend I have never met such an incredible non-judgmental genuinely kind human being in my entire life.
Karen was the one who told you off when you stepped out of line, which I did quite often.
She changed with the times, she said “everybody should be free to live their lives without prejudice”
Lady of the manor I called her because of her posh voice, the voice went higher if you were about to start saying something you shouldn’t or to stop you in your tracks.
A lady with a big voice and incredible kind voice that made you able to tell her everything and anything without judging you. She embraced everybody’s differences and celebrated them equally with Love.
She didn’t care where you came from or who you were. She was just Karen with a big heart. She was most proud of her family especially Sophie, Charlotte and Richard.
Last time I saw her she was recording herself reading books so her grandchildren can always hear the voice of their brave inspirational Granny, she was always thinking of others, so selfless.
She lived for the day she became a granny she was always excited talking about it.

Christine and Kim and Sam inspired her with their strength and determination. Who also have battled cancer and treated at the Christie.

She always told us how she bosses Mr Roper around and what a gent he is.

She was there for everybody at work, that shoulder that advice we all needed.
How brave she has always been never moaned and was grateful for life and to have lived.

I am jealous of the Angels because they have gained the very best there is.

If we can take anything away from Karen is to be kind and never give up.
Her strength was admirable.

So much of you is left behind.

So we are going to raise as much money as we can for the charity she would always choose.

Thank you so much

Karen’s friends and colleagues.

Doing the walk will in memory of Karen will be

Carolyn Kim Rhonda Jack Jess Karl and Karen’s husband Lindsay!
