2011 Great Scottish Run 10K · 4 September 2011 ·
While browsing the internet from the comfort of my sofa I had a moment of insanity and decided to take part in the Great Scottish Run.
Training has started and although I cannot promise a fantastic time for the run, I can promise a lot of pain on my part which is surely worth a few quid!
I am raising money for Let Us Shine. Let Us Shine Africa is a Scottish Charitable Trust dedicated to providing opportunities in education, training and access to employment for some of the poorest children in Africa. I have been truly inspired by the work they do and every pound donated to Let Us Shine goes towards the campaign to provide the best education.
· £2 will buy a mosquito net
· £5 will buy a school uniform and shoes
· £10 will feed a child for a month
· £50 will buy every girl in a class their textbook
To find out more about the fantastic work Let Us Shine so simply go to www.letusshine.org
Alternatively, you can commit to sponsor a child for £15 a month. Child Sponsorship is the ONLY source of regular income for Let Us Shine and it is often the ONLY hope for a child to flourish, grow and learn in a safe environment. If you are interested in child sponsorship please go to http://www.letusshine.org/Childsponsorship.html for more details.
Every pound I raise will help me get back out for another training run, so please dig deep and give what you can.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
