Story
I was diagnosed with MS over 27 years ago, not quite half my life. However, when I was diagnosed they took into account my medical history and said I'd had it for at least ten years prior to that. That means I've had the condition for at least 37 years, well over half my life. And for the rest of my life, most probably. I've used MS-UK's services and they are extremely useful to anyone like me with a diagnosis, close family, other relatives, friends, acquaintances and anyone who has been touched by MS.
The condition has taken away many of my ambitions such as my acting career which was going very well on stage, TV and film; it's stopped my dancing which I've loved since my young childhood and I can no longer play the many musical instruments that I did. But I can still give talks.
So for my virtual marathon I am learning the names of 26 clouds, yes there are more than that, I will give a talk or do a video to show that I have learnt the 26 names as well as facts about them and verbal descriptions of them.
This July, I am taking part in My MS Marathon again to raise money for MS-UK's Counselling Service.Across the country, people are joining the #TeamPurple family to take on their own kind of marathon using the number 26 through time or distance , and I am doing it my way for MS-UK.Collectively we are aiming to raise £7,000 which is enough to fund 140 counselling sessions!MS-UK's Counselling Service provides emotional support for people who have a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) and live in the UK. It is the only service of its kind available in the country.Thank you for your support, together we can ensure that no one has to face MS alone.
