Ben & Melissa share the love of running, as do our friends Yen & Doug. This year we are running the City 2 Surf together and hopefully with some other friends and family. Our Dad Geoff is going to walk/run as well and our family friend Brad is going to keep him company along the way.
We have chosen to run for ChildFund Australia with the aim of raising more funds towards the construction of a 4 room pre-school in Pha-En village in the Nonghet district of the Xieng Khouang province in Laos. This village has never before had an early childhood facility, meaning that older children in the family stay home to look after pre-school aged children while their parents work, and they are unable to attend school. This is a much needed resource. We are so pleased that funds raised in memory of our big brother Gavin, his beautiful wife Lea, my gorgeous niece Jade & my cheeky nephew Manfred who we sadly lost to a plane crash in October 2013 in Laos will build this pre-school, we can ensure they have a legacy which will mean so much to so many.
So far we have raised over $65,000 of the $81,000 needed (on our other Just Giving page)
