Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Starting on Saturday 17th April 2021, for 28 days, I will be completing at least 5km a day - totalling 140km by Friday 14th May. I look to run a lot of this however those who know me well know that running is not my strong suit but I'm working on it! Therefore this challenge will be a combination of running and walking for me!
I will be raising money for CPSL Mind. Mental health is always important but more so at the moment with Covid-19 sticking around for well over a year now, so many people will be experiencing mental health problems whether it's anxiety of coming out of lockdown, loneliness, bereavement through losing those we love amongst other things.
I have felt and also observed the effects of mental health both prior to and during Covid. I know how much of an impact mental health can have on just going about day to day life and I learnt the hard way that bottling up how you feel in your mind doesn’t help anything. The best thing you can do when you're struggling is to talk about it. I believe the key to mental health is having an amazing support network - through family and friends but also the services offered by charities. This past year has been especially tough and the more we can support charities such as CPSL Mind - the more they can support us and those around us when we really need it.
I've decided to do a physical challenge as I know that exercise is such a good way to better our mental and also physical wellbeing and as I say a lot I always do feel a lot better mentally after exercise, although my body doesn't agree a lot of the time! I will be keeping a track of the distance I am completing on strava but will be posting on social media too - not only to prove I'm actually doing the work but also to motivate myself. I would be so grateful for any donations to help this charity. Thank you so much.
