Story
In the 1st of June we awoke to find that the water in our village had stopped flowing. Thames Water had a failure in their pumping station at Burghfield Reservoir.
Our village Facebook page was flooded ahem, with complaints, offers to help neighbours, people sharing the latest info on the situation and a running commentary as the water started to flow again some 12 hours later.
I was one of the moaners saying why didn't they spend more money to prevent this happening.
Others were saying we were lucky this only happend for 1 day, and there were many less fortunate in the world. Out of that came the idea.
I think we get £30 (either two low pressure events in a month, or a loss of water for >12 hours). Thames Water have been a little coy about confirming that.... so
I pledge £30 to water aid
I also pledge another £30 if Thames Water make the compensation payment.
I ask Thames Water to match these donations.
