Story
Help more people beat cancer.
Thank you for visiting my Race for Life sponsorship page.
Most of you visiting this page will have lived my story with me to a greater or smaller extent and I want to thank you all for the love and support shown to me and all the family over the last couple of years.
In a nutshell I was diagnosed with primary bowel cancer and a secondary lung tumour in September 2009. My treatment consisted of surgery for my bowel in October 2009, surgery to my lung in November 2009, chemotherapy from Jan to July 2010 and surgery to reverse my ileostomy in Aug 2010. Since then I have had two clear CT Scans in Nov 2010 and most recently in April 2011 and am cancer free. I will continue to be closely monitored over the next few years but I wanted to mark the end of this chapter by trying to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research so Caitlin and Ellen and I are taking part in Race for Life at Sutton Park on Sunday 19th June. It is only 5k but this time last year I couldn't even walk upstairs without feeling exhausted so completing the race at a gentle jogging pace will be fantastic and to do it with my girls and two of my close friends who have shared the journey with me will be uplifting and memorable.
