Story
Thank you for visiting my Race for Life sponsorship page.
This year is my 5th Race for Life and when I started running 5 years ago (and I do actually run - despite those nasty uphill bits in Lloyd Park!) I had no idea what cancer would do to my own family. Last year I raced for the bravest man I have ever met - my husband, David, as he battled late-diagnosed bowel cancer. This year I will run for him again, in memory of the 14 fantastically happy years we had together and to give our two sons a brighter future. It's going to be tough but I am determined as ever to get round and hope to set a new personal best!
This year's race is a starter as I will also be back later in the year seeking your support for a much bigger challenge. But please do not let that put you off now as you will be helping me to train and keep going,
So please sponsor me online – it’s quick, easy and totally secure.
Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. David received a trial chemo drug while he was being treated at the Marsden and it is some comfort to know that by doing so he also helped the treatment for others in the future. By sponsoring me now I hope you can help more people survive cancer so that fewer wives lose their husbands and fewer children lose their dads.
Gift Aid it!
If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating so that an extra 25%, plus a 3% supplement, can be added to your gift at no cost to you.
