Running this 5km race will be a significant challenge for us both.

"The last time I did any running was in the 400m at School Sports Day in 1960-something!!! I'm not even sure I got past the first heat, so running this Race for Life is a significant challenge for me.
I'm hoping that the sporadic jogging circuits I've been doing since Jilly signed me up for this will stand me in good stead and that the atmosphere on the day will keep me going.
This is my first ever (and may be my last ever) sponsored run....... so please give generously to support CR-UK.
Those of you who are family and friends will know I will have my brother Mike's name on my back - in honour of the amazingly brave and Christian way in which he dealt with treatments and the progression of his terminal prostate cancer.
Go Sue and Jilly, Go!"

"When I signed us both up for this event I had no idea how proud I'd feel about all the training Mum's been doing and I can't wait to cross the 5km line with her as it will be the culmination of months of her commitment to jogging sessions and keep-fit at the local community centre!
Our main motivation however, is to raise as much as we can for Cancer Research UK in memory of my wonderful Uncle Mike. I know it will be a really emotional day, but your support and lovely messages will get us across the finishing line."
Please help us raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research UK this year and dig deep and sponsor us. Cancer Research UK carries out life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer and by sponsoring us you can help more people survive cancer.
You can either donate on this site (it’s quick, easy and totally secure) or you can donate by cheque (please see details at the bottom of this message).
Every pound you donate really does make a difference.
Thanks so much for your support – Together we will beat cancer.
With much love,
Sue and Jilly XXX
