Story
Cancer, we're coming to get you!
We are doing race for life in memory of our lovely dad, grandad and friend, Ray Limburn, who sadly passed away on 1st October 2012. It has been the hardest times in our lives in one way or another.
Ray was an active cyclist, cycling for charities, until ill health was diagnosed in 2009. He took early retirement when he was diagnosed with COPD and spent his last few years going to Wetherspoons in Fratton Rd on his mobility scooter, he met many friends and continued putting the world to rights.
He was a family man, dedicated husband, dad and grandad, he had nothing to give apart from love and advise. He was diagnosed with lung in July 2012 and fought bravely to the end, suffering so much and told so little. We had a lovely family get together on Sunday 30th September 2012, where he was reunited with important members of his family, he also had to say farewell to his youngest grand-daughter Leigh Archer as she went on her travels to Australia. The hardest thing he probably had to do, knowing he would never see her again, in fact he never spoke to any of us again as he passed in his sleep the early hours of Monday morning 1st October.
