Race for Life Bournemouth (am) 5k 2011 · 19 June 2011 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

In 2003 (32 years old)  I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer it was a grade 3 (out of 4) and had spread to my lymph glands, I had 6 months chemo followed by a full mastectomy. I made a full recovery.

In 2009 I was re diagnosed with Breast Cancer on my other side, Grade 2, it was caught just in-time before spreading to my lymph glands, again followed by a full mastectomy and more chemo which I finished in April 2010. I have now made a full recovery.  I will continue to take drugs for another 5 years.

My Doctors tell me that we have done everything we can do, I really hope it does not come back, but there are no guarantees. The next 5 years are crucial to my recovery.

We need to raise money so a cure can be found; This is such a senseless disease and makes no sense at all.
