Cancer Research UK has always been a very important charity that can strike a nerve amongst most people, and unfortunately my family hasn't been lucky enough to be an exception. At a young age I lost my cousin Darren to cancer, a loss that will never be forgotten by our family. Then in November of last year my Mum was also diagnosed with cancer, and is still currently going through chemo treatment. I realise first hand how much it can change the life of the individual and the life of their family and friends. Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. It would really mean a lot to me and my family if we can support the work of a charity that will have made such an impact on my mum's treatment and the support she receives, please help me to reach my target!
