Story
June was the closest thing I had to a mother in law so I was devastated when I found out she had cancer. I have completed the 'Race for Life' events in Coventry and Leicester for the last two years and dedicated my races to her. In my infinite wisdom I am doing them both again this year and once again am racing for June who sadly lost her battle with cancer having passed away on 9th March 2009. I am also racing for May (Chris’ Grandmother) who sadly passed away on 4th June 2008 following a short battle with cancer. She is missed by many.
This sponsorship page is for both Races for Life - the first one on 7th June 2009 and the second one on 12th July. I will be entering the Coventry and Warwickshire race with my friend Ursula (who is doing this in remembrance of her father) and we are going to run as much as possible round the course!
My step-daughter Lucie will be joining Ursula and I at the Leicester race and we are once again aiming to finish within the hour. We are still proud of our time from last year (51 minutes) which was a real achievement considering it was very wet and the route was slippery and muddy!! We've vowed to be quicker this year!!
Please please do sponsor us in this race and remember that if you are a UK tax payer you can 'gift aid' your donation which allows Cancer Research to claim back an extra 28% and it won't cost you a penny!
Those of you that know me well will be aware of how disorganised I am so please make the sponsorship via this page if you can - otherwise it might take me months to collect all the money together! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me - Cancer Research will receive your money faster. Thanks!
Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you could help more people survive cancer.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support - together we will beat cancer.
Soph, Lucie and Ursula xx
