Story
Hello! and thank you for following my inevitable relentless facebook and twitter mentioning of this and clicking this link! Here is why it is important to me...
Earlier this year, I lost my Grandmother Joyce O'Connor to Cancer. She was a truly wonderful woman - warm, inspiring, funny, smart, to name just a few of her qualities. She fought an incredibly brave battle with this illness. I miss her.
Prior to that she herself also lost someone very special to her to Cancer - Geoff, her love.
Before I was born, on the other side of my family, Cancer took a grandfather I never knew at a very young age.
In short and to put it mildly - Cancer sucks!
Last year I did the Race for Life, in order to support my gran and try to do something to help in some indirect way; and with your kind support was able to raise over £450.
This year I'm doing it again, in memory of Nanny Joyce, her Geoff, and my Granddad Rex; and I would dearly love to beat last years total!!
Any amount you can donate really does make a difference. Cancer affects 1 in 3 people of all ages and walks of life, and progress is being made all the time by charities such as Cancer Research, to prevent it, cure it and support those living with Cancer - But there is still so much more to do - so please help!
Its really really really quick and easy, and totally secure to sponsor me via this page. Oh and if you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you..
