I originally decided to do the Race for Life in 2007 after the very sudden death of my mum who collapsed on New Years Day 2007. Although she didn't die from Cancer the training for and focusing on the Race for Life helped through the difficult times following my mums passing. I now do the race each year and wish to do my part in helping raise funds for Cancer Research UK and helping the work they do, and each time I do it in memory of my mum.
