Well this race should of been on July 8th but was postponed due to all the bad weather we have been having and today you could see why, it was so muddy !! So .................. picture the scene, 10am on a warm but overcast Sunday morning in July, 2500 women and girls of all ages all geared up ready to do the race for life in Woodbank park, Stockport, some of the reasons on their running signs were so sad to see, some with lists of names, others with pictures of family members or friends who had died in the battle with cancer, others who have survived. Others just with messages. I was running in memory of Ben & Sue who both sadly lost their fight this year.
Their goal - to do the 5 K race for life and raise lots of money and awareness for the charity.
After the warm up we all lined up ready to go.
I had done some training this year as I was determined to beat my time from last year especially as some people said they would double my sponsor money if I did !!
And I certainly did that ! Last years time = 44 mins
THIS YEAR 30 MINS !! But I only just did it and felt like a jelly afterwards !!
Total raised = £402 ! (£98 short of my tagregt but still a great amount)
thanks again for your support it means such a lot ! Think I'll sign up again for next years race !
