Kisses For Keira
Anyone who was lucky enough to meet Keira would tell you she was the most charistmatic, lovliest little girl with a big heart to match her big cheeky smile!
Keira was already extra special as she had Downes Syndrome, but she never let this affect her. No matter what obstacle she had to face she always faced it with a smile, nothing phased her.
In January 2011 Keira was diagnosed with leukaemia. After a few rounds of intensive Chemotherapy, she responded really well to treatment and we all thought she would get better.
Sadly, there were complications. Keira picked up a bug and her body was just too tired to fight anymore. She passed away on 2nd July 2011 at Nottingham Children's Hospital aged 2 years.
We race in memory of Keira, and all those who have died or continue to battle cancer.
