Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you could help more people survive cancer.

The reason I am personally doint this evenit is that my sister in law Janet was diagnosed with cancer just two years ago, sadly she died just before Christmas in 2007.

 She was extremely brave during the two years, but she had the loving support of her partner during this time and they sealed their relationship back in July by getting married.  It was good to see her happy on this occasion and I’m sorry that they couldn’t spend more happy times together, but as I say she had the loving support of John during this time and I know that John will continue to support the cancer charity now that Janet has gone.

 Janet did so much during her lifetime to help others and I feel humble in comparison to the things she has done, so I’d like to offer some small support to other people who are going through the same thing Janet did and hope that Janet would be pleased at this small tribute to her. 

The picture on the left was taken of Janet following some chemo therapy treatment and was taken last year.
