This year I'm running for two people whose lives have been devastated by the wicked Big C!

So ...

For Martin Colligan - with love and support as he battles so bravely whilst raising money for other sufferers; he is an inspiration to all those who have the honour of knowing him.

For my Mum - Unbelievably, another year passes without my amazing, wonderful, beautiful, inspiring and fabulous Mum; and every day a huge piece of my life is missing.  Wishing for one more day to tell her just how much she is still loved and wanting to share all the memories that we are creating in her honour.

She was, and will remain, a incredible woman - strong, loving, caring, funny, clever, sensitive - a fantastic mother to Kelly and I, and doting grandmother to our children.  She was an icon to all those who knew her.

She was there to meet me after my first Race For Life and I lost her the day after my second one - I will continue to take part every year that I can, in memory of her.  Every time I run, I smile knowing that she would be proud of me and laugh as she would laugh too, at my complaints of tiredness. 

I will run the RFL again this year to give a small nod of thanks for their bravery in the face of such a fight.
