This is my fourth year taking part in this fantastic event and I'm motivated year after year to join the Race for Life as it's such an emotional and inspiring gathering, and for an amazing cause too. I'll be joined on the day by a few of my close friends and we will be trying to do our very best and raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research UK. None of us are runners, so to get round the 5K course may not sound a great feat to some of you reading this, but it's always a great acheivement for us! Every penny we raise helps to motivate us to keep going and complete the course, so your support is really appreciated.

I lost my Grandma to cancer in 2007 and so this cause is very close to my heart. I have felt first-hand the heartache of losing someone you love to cancer, but also experienced the ways in which Cancer Research UK use the money they raise to support sufferers in their time of need. Over the years there have been a number of people close to me and my family who we have lost to this terrible disease and events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.
