Story
Cancer, we're coming to get you!
I'm getting off my horse and onto my own 2 feet to run the Race For Life in Heaton Park in July. I haven't run since my teens, so I whilst it will probably be hellish for me, it should be amusing for the spectators.
I am even going as far as to train for it (it is entirely necessary). After a thorough search of the house, I located my trainers at the bottom of the 'cave' - the room where we throw everything we never use. They were under a stack of emergency chairs and stuffed toys bound for eBay. I have also found a matching tracksuit which, unsurprisingly, is like new. At least I can look fabulous while I cough my guts up by the side of the road.
I am running the Race For Life because it's about time I got off my backside and did something for charity. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and we all know it is a bastard. My mum managed to fight it off 10yrs ago, but I know far too many others who weren't as fortunate. I'm doing it for every one of those people, and for every daughter, son, mum, dad, brother or sister who is without a loved one because of this vile disease.
Please donate whatever you can. Even a pound would be a pound closer to my target. It would be massively appreciated and you would be making a difference. If you are a tax payer you can also giftaid your donation, which means the charity gets more of it and it doesn't cost you a penny more.
Thank you very much for visiting my page and I promise there will be embarrassing photos of me gasping for breath at the finish line come July!
