When my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer last August I immediately thought the worst- as I imagine most people do! But the care she received from the ward staff and oncology staff shows that there is a way out - even when we were told the cancer had spread and her treatment would have to change. She has had easy times, hard times and even harder times but her strength and courage and bravery throughout all of her treatment has given me something to aspire to and I want to do anything I can to help her, and other people, to continue receiving the high level of care that she has had over the last 5 months.
