Story
This is the first time I am taking part in Race For Life 5K run, I have not done much exercise since I left school many years ago now, so it never crossed my mind to enter. 5K may not seem a lot but becoming use to being lazy, eating junk food and sitting on the sofa makes it more difficult. I have always given money to charity but this time I thought I would give my time and become healther.
The major reason I am taking part this year is due to the passing of my Granddad over the Christmas period. He had a rare form of stomach cancer which could have ended differently if found earlier. I went to visit him the day before my birthday and I will never forget how he looked, he wasn't my granddad anymore. This thing had taken over him and completely changed how he looked. There are lots of different forms of cancer and all are just as bad as the other.
If I can help stop other people having to go through what I went through I will be happy. So pleeeeeeeease help me and Cancer Research UK.
For every £1 Cancer Research UK receives, 80 pence is available to spend on their work to beat cancer. In the financial year 2009/10, they spent £334 million on cancer research activity.Their work is entirely funded by the public. they rely solely on the generosity and commitment of their supporters to continue life-saving research, so please sponsor me as much as you can as it is all for a good cause.
