Story
Im Walking the race for life in loving memory of my beautiful mum Heather Smith, who became an angel in January 2011.
I found my mum in a coma on the 9th August 2010, after no sign of any illness. My mum fought to survive, even though the doctors told us it would be unlikely she would survive the night. She had a grade 4 Brain Tumour (Glioblastoma) and had had a Stroke. William Harvey Hospital did everything possible and managed to transfer her to St Georges Hospital, Tooting London, where they removed 90% of the tumour. My mum woke up 4 days and she showed such bravery and strength in her fight to recover. We were then told a week later that mum was terminal and was too ill for treatment.
Me and My beautiful family along with our amazing friends brought mum home and cared for her. My Mum passed away on the 21st January 2011. The saddness that has filled our lives, is unbearable but by taken part in the race for life has helped me feel like im doing something! So please Donate, every little bit goes to help fight this devasting disease.
