Angela's Story
In October 2009 my father was diagnosed with Cancer of Unknown Primary. For 9 months my father battled this horrible disease, always willing to try anything and always hoping that around the corner there will be a cure!, sadly this was not to be and on Friday 9th July 2010 at 0240am my father passed away aged 55 years old.
Cancer of unknown primary is exactly that Cancer that no primary has been found and therefore it often has been discovered when it is in its advanced stages often only providing the patient with the option of chemo to prolong life rather than to cure. As most cancers survival rates depend on finding the primary site, and treating accordingly.
My family and I beleive that if the cancer was discovered a lot earlier then my father may be here today, however without a primary being discovered the doctors did not know how to treat it
