Story
Peak Humanity ‘Peak Humanity’ is a campaign set by British mountaineer Akke Rahman. The campaign involves Akke climbing Mount Everest, the highest mountain on earth. Akke will be the first British Muslim to take on this challenge. This is significantly important as Akke will peak Mount Everest during the month of Ramadan 2022 when Muslims around the world will be fasting. Why Peak Humanity Although the challenge to peak Mount Everest is extremely risky, the aim of the project is to raise funds through creating awareness amongst young children, women, and men suffering from war, conflict, and poverty. Akke believes that ‘Peak Humanity’ is a lifetime opportunity for him to raise much needed funds, and for everyone around the globe to support his efforts. Aklakur “Akke” Rahman Aklakur "Akke" Rahman is a British-Bengali mountaineer from Oldham, England. Born in Bangladesh, he moved to the UK at the age of 1. He was an athlete since early beginnings. Akke had been crowned multiple records in school and Greater Manchester in various athletic competitions, including the 100m Sprint and Triple Jump. Akke’s enthusiasm in climbing, trekking, and mountaineering led him to touch the highest peaks in the UK, Europe, Africa and including Mount Snowdon, Mount Elbrus, Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc. He also went on to climb the Himalayas and Ama Dablam – one of the highest and most dangerous peaks which is around 7,000 meters high. Akke’s passion for climbing became a mission when every step of the journey meant saving the most vulnerable communities around the world. This Ramadan Akke will climb Mount Everest – the highest and most dangerous peak, and his mission is once to give back to humanity. He will raise funds for the RFC to help and support destitute women, men and children of Afghanistan, Syria, Rohingya, and from other places impacted by war, conflict, disaster and poverty. The RFC – Ramadan Family Commitment RFC is a Channel S TV initiative to raise funds for partner charities during the month of Ramadan. Channel S partner charities conduct 26 live TV fundraising appeals during the month of Ramadan for their own charitable national and international projects. The RFC raises funds collectively for those 26 appeals where donors can make a single donation and the donation will be equally distributed amongst the 26 appeals. For example, if anyone donates £26 to the RFC, each appeal will get £1. If you donate £260, then each appeal will receive £10. This is a unique and special opportunity for charity partners, as the RFC donations help them to carry out their important humanitarian projects. RFC is governed by an independent board. How You Can Help Akke’s mission will be successful only when we collectively support him by donating to his JustGiving page. He is going to risk his life leaving a young family behind. His sacrifice will only be successful when we all choose ‘Peak Humanity’. You can support him as an individual by donating or sponsoring him from your business. Channel will offer the following opportunities for the sponsors / donors:
