Story
On Wednesday November 14th 2012, the 3rd Annual Reverse Rett London will take place at the Royal College of Physicians at Regent's Park, London
Those supporting this event have the chance to be part of something unique: helping to find a cure for one of the world’s most devastating brain disorders.
Rett Syndrome strikes at random, affecting seemingly healthy little girls around the time of their first birthday and ending their parents’ hopes and dreams for their future. It affects nearly every aspect of these girls’ lives, taking away their ability to walk, talk and use their hands. Many girls have problems with breathing and eating. Many also have seizures.
But there is hope. Rett Syndrome has been reversed in mice. Scientists believe that it could be the world’s first curable brain disorder.
2012 has been an amazing year for Rett research. Critical research projects which have been part-funded with income generated by previous Reverse Rett London events have yielded a greater understanding of Rett Syndrome and opened new doors for intervention.
We are now at a critical moment for girls and women who live with Rett Syndrome. We envision launching multiple clinical trials in the near future.
Your generous support will allow us to fund these trials as well as continuing to pursue our dynamic research portfolio.
Thank you.
