We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure
Story
As a charity we usually raise for the neonatal team and Tiny Lives Trust at RVI Newcastle and 4Louis in memory of Reuben, but this year in addition we have chose to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK as many of of friends and family have lost family members to Dementia or have family members currently suffering with the illness. The work they do is amazing and we hope to help raise funds to help with research to find an answer to fight the illness and beat it. This year we will be taking part in Endure24 at Leeds in June. This is a 24 hour running event where we will have to run during the night starting at Midday on Sat 24th June and finishing Midday Sun 25th June in a team of 7 taking part as a relay.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.
There are still no treatments to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s and as it affects over 1 million people in the UK today, with research indicating that one in three babies born today will die with it, your support is more important than ever.
At Alzheimer’s Research UK they fund world-class research studies to beat dementia right at your doorstep – At the moment there are over £5.3 million of funding awarded to 61 projects in the North East, including Newcastle University and the University of Durham.
They are relentless in their mission to bring about the first life-changing treatment for dementia, and with your help they are making great progress.
