Story
Here in the Respiratory department at Homerton Hospital we're struggling. As the ignominy of yet another lockdown puts paid to our hopes and dreams, so it does to our self respect. In our melancholic state - and with our pre-pubescent cheeks safely covered by facemasks - we're growing our moustaches to align with the tawdry, over-popularised tradition of Movember. ..
...and we want your money!
Why proffer your pennies for such a futile forfeit when you might never witness our whiskers?
Patrick, (a novice runner by his own admission, clocking a total of 0Km in 2020 thus far) has persuaded us not to shave until we've run a km for every pound earned by the end of November*. The more you donate, the further we run and the smaller the chance any of us will ever get a date in 2021.
A mere donation of £40 will get the Respiratory department running a cumulative marathon before their top lips are released from their bristly purgatory. With just a two week window to keep us running for ALL of 2021, (undoubtedly facemask free at some point), send forth your sterling and donate your dollars**.
All proceeds will be donated to Ella's, a charity that supports women and girls in London who are survivors of modern slavery, trafficking and exploitation. They offer safe house and long-term, community-based support to help them build safe, independant lives. You can read more about their fantastic work here: www.ellas.org.uk/the-issue.
A very worth cause as we are sure you will all agree, so get donating to keep us looking stupid. How long will it be until our faces are free of fuzz? You decide.
Cheers!
Titch, Pat & Richard

*Some of us may have serious job interviews in 2022 so we can't take it too far... All donations made before 1st December will contribute to miles we will run before shaving. Feel free to donate after December too though!
