Story
On Thursday 3rd March, we will be walking at least 43,000 steps to raise money for the 4.3 million children in the UK who now live in poverty.
Then, between Friday 4th - Sunday 6th March, we will be taking on challenges set by each other to further our fundraising efforts.
As a team we are extremely passionate about raising money to support this very worthwhile cause and would really appreciate your support if possible; every bit really does help!
Why ?
Over the last year, one in five parents say that they have gone without food themselves to feed their children. This number has dramatically increased as a result of Covid19, resulting in Unicef having to step in for the first time in 70 years.
Marcus Rashford's fantastic work around child food poverty has shone such an important light on this desperate situation, but there are still 7/13 weeks of school holidays that are currently unfunded in England, and Wales is not eligible for HAF funding at all.
StreetGames are working tirelessly to help provide more safe, local opportunities for children to access free food and activities in the holiday period. However, further fundraising is essential to cope with the increasing number of children who need this support and we want to do our bit to facilitate these opportunities.
