Story
Thank you for visiting Resa's JustGiving page.
We started walking from Land's End to John O'Groats when Resa was five years old. Over a period of ten weeks, spread out over school holidays, we have managed to walk 1013 miles from Land's End to Inverness, padding along the highways and byways of Britain. We walk on footpaths and bridleways wherever possible and navigate using OS maps and a compass. During our travels we have talked to every animal we have met, been welcomed into strangers' houses, ploughed through storm drains, sunk up to our knees in mud and lain in fields of buttercups.
The final push from Inverness to John O'Groats is going to be the most challenging to date (and we have overcome a fair number of challenges on our journey). We shall be walking 150 miles in ten days, up through the wilds of Scotland.
Resa and I have chosen to support The Charlie Waller Memorial Fund because it is a small and very effective charity that raises awareness of depression and provides training to schools, primary care staff and employers, encouraging those who may be depressed to seek help. I have lived with depression for over two decades and know what an insidious and ugly illness it is.
If you would like to be kept in touch with our progress up to John O'Groats, please leave your email in the message box. The trip starts on Saturday 14 July and finishes on Monday 23 July.
