Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
Positive East is an East London charity that provides support and advice services to people living with (and affected by) HIV. I joined the charity in the spring of 2018 as their GMI Development Manager. I am so proud to be part of an organisation that has been at the forefront of HIV service and care for 28 years; supporting people from point of HIV diagnosis to longer term care.
Every year, Positive East supports more than 1,700 people who access services including:
- support groups
- counselling sessions
- peer support and mentorships
- a health and well-being programme
- an advice line
- volunteering opportunities
as well as providing another 1,500 people with a free HIV/STI test in the Positive East building and at our outreach sessions.
Positive East's vision is “A world where people living with HIV are able to fulfill their potential, free from stigma and discrimination, living full healthy lives” and their mission is to “Improve the quality of life of individuals and communities affected by HIV”.
The skydive in July is a huge challenge that I am so excited (and terrified) to take on!
