Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will be aware that back in October, I was lucky enough to secure a place in the ballot for the London Marathon 2020. I was gobsmacked and still am! I don't know if I'll ever get this chance again, so I've decided to use it as an opportunity to raise money for a good cause.
Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal raises funds to provide facilities and home comforts for patients and their families at Bristol Children's Hospital and St. Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Both provide world-class care to babies and children from all over the South West of England, and in some cases the entire UK and overseas. It is a charity that is particularly close to the hearts of some good friends of mine, Annie & Tom Sandell, who unexpectedly found themselves at St. Michael's when their son Oliver was born in 2008. They have supported this charity ever since, this is my contribution.
I'm currently 5 weeks into a 20 week training plan, and so far so good (apart from the wind and rain!) although I still have a long way to go. Up to now the furthest I've ever run is a half marathon, so I'm hoping the winter is kind and I can stay fit and well to get closer to the end goal.
I've entered Bath Half and a local 20 mile race, both in March. I'm also lucky enough to have a very supportive mum, husband, friends and fellow Muddy Runners who have all proved invaluable as training partners and motivators.
Anything you can spare for this fantastic charity will be greatly appreciated. Thank you x
