Story

In late 2019 Pummie was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer as he approached his 60th birthday. He kept great faith and fought an impossible battle with the utmost bravery over these past couple years. Still smiling till the end as he was lifted from that pain. He left this world an extremely happy man, recently being reunited with his dearest family at his eldest daughter's wedding.

Pummie was a charitable man, the chairman of Northampton Punjabi Association, a member of Sikh Union Coventry and always finding valuable causes to help in his local community, nationally and internationally. Before his passing Pummie always expressed his great admiration for The Lewis Foundation. He wanted to raise money for the foundation to help other cancer patients like him. May God welcome him with open arms and rest in eternal peace. We love you Pummie x

The Lewis Foundation source, package and hand deliver free gift packs to adult cancer patients in hospital and the community. Some patients might find it difficult to buy these themselves or simply cannot afford it. It can be a sad, frightening and lonely experience for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Especially during Covid-19, Pummie found the strength to walk in to his treatment room each week with pride and a smile on his face thanks to The Lewis Foundation.

The Lewis Foundation has grown from delivering 80 gift packs to one hospital, to delivering over 2,500 to seven hospitals in the Midlands per month. They are Northampton General Hospital, BMI Three Shires Northampton, Kettering Hospital, Bedford Hospital, Luton & Dunstable Hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary and Milton Keynes University Hospital Trust.
