Story
This is probably very late in the day, but for obvious reasons as below.
Sadly on the 30th April we lost my mum, Ann. She'd had a long battle with cancer starting back in 2017, which she beat. However it came back last year, and mum was put on palliative care in October.
Mum’s wish was to die at home rather than in a hospital ward, and Dad kept his promise. It was obviously a difficult time for everyone.
However, from our first encounter with Hospiscare, when Patch turned up, everything seemed like it would be okay even given the circumstances. The ball started rolling very quickly, a new bed arrived the next day, and lovely nurses such as Rosie and others gave so much care and compassion for mum’s final days.
So... although it's only a little gesture I thought I’d try and raise some much needed funds for Hospiscare in Devon. I'm cycling the RideLondon 100 this Sunday, so, if you'd like to sponsor me, no matter how small I’d be very grateful. Thank you.
