In Memory of Edna May Fischer
*09.05.1934 - †05.05.2004
Thank you for visiting my Leasowe Lighthouse abseil fundraising page.
On Saturday 2.August 2008 at 12:30 did i abseil down the 101 feet tall Leasowe Lighthouse on the Wirral.
Why did i do this? - Well there is the obvious reason: its for charity, but its also in memory of my late wife Edna.
Plus, it seemed just a great idea when i read about it in the Wirral News, after all 101 feet is not verry tall is it? - (Original Text: Well i just hope i wont mess my pants half way down the Lighthouse; anybody got some spare pants?)
I can tell You now that from the bottum looking up it looked very tall, but looking down from the top it was alright. - So i did not need a change of pants!
The only (little) problem i had was when the Instructor teold me to step "DOWN" from the ledge onto the wall and my legs actually tried to step down to the ground!
(Original Text: So if You want to see a grown man mess his pants (NOT!!) come to Leasowe Lighthouse on the 2. Agust. But don't forget to sponsor me, after all its not just for fun!)
A big Thank You to Di and Carla who came to see me absail, to Sue and Chris who send me encoraging Texts before the absail, and of course to any one at Port Sunlight Village Trust as well as friends and family who sponsert me!
Many thanks for your support.
Reiner H Fischer
