I'm fundraising as part of Lotus Seven Club to support Prostate Cancer Research as I found out I had early stages of Prostate cancer in late 2017.

In April 2018, I had a 5-hour operation in the NHS hospital in Guildford
and successfully had my Prostate removed. 
Since then, I have had regular blood tests to monitor my PSA level and I’m pleased to say they have all returned a PSA count of 0 since.  Some people are not so lucky, even when their Prostate is removed, so ongoing research is vital with this deadly male disease.

For those of you that manage to attend, thank you for supporting this
charity event.

For those of you who can’t attend, but still wish to donate to the
cause, thank you for your contribution, whatever the size.

This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend and you don’t need to have a Caterham to participate.  This might help a few fellow members who Caterham’s might not be road ready for one reason or another, so please come in a tin top or whatever you fancy.  We all
know it’s the taking part that counts!

The start point is the Lasham Gliding Club car park, I suggest we meet from 9:30am onwards and then look to leave in small groups of 2-3 cars every 5 minutes, to avoid any issues with this being a pre-planned blat, with a fixed route and 12 cars or more attending.
If it were, then we/the club would require a Certificate of Exemption.

The finish is the club meeting site, the Barley Mow pub in Dogmersfield.

The route is 150.78 miles long and should take just under 4 hours to complete, plus any refreshment breaks. 

Refreshment Stops

There are 2 places for refreshment breaks as follows:

· Army Flying Museum in Stockbridge, after 1 hour and 40 miles (Way Point 10)

· Rowdey Cow Farm Café and Ice Cream Parlour, after 2 hours and 80 miles (Way Point 21)

The route goes through the following towns to spell out the word PROSTATE:

P - Preston Candover

R - River Test

O - Overton

S - Sutton Scotney

T - Tilshead

A - Avebury

T - Hurstbourne Tarrant

E - Ecchinswell

If the weather looks bad for Sunday 29^th August, I’ll look to postpone it for a week, to Sunday 5th September.

The Public route is also in the ReHaB MRA app, in an Event called Prostate150Blat.

Rules For The Day

As this is a charity event to raise money for the excellent club charity
Prostate Cancer Research, I’d like to ask for £5 minimum from each adult passenger, this will be collected at the start of the event and I’ll let you know how much was raised at the end of the day.

At each of the PROSTATE locations we will need a picture of a car(s). I
will therefore ask each group that leaves to take a picture at a specific
location and send to me during the day (I have assumed that there will be more than 8 groups setting off!)

Don’t forget Tony, various people have offered substantial donations of you arrive in Primrose…..no pressure then….

As always, this is non-competitive driving and must at all times be in
accordance with the Highway Code.
